Blog Roll

Too busy to talk to minorities, are we?

Well, I finally found something to blog about, unfortunately it has to deal with the leading GOP contenders having “scheduling conflicts” and won’t be at a forum to discuss minority issues. I’m a republican because I believe in smaller government, lower taxation, capitalism and freedom. It saddens me that the “leading” GOP candidates are not willing to come to a forum and discuss African American issues. How can these leading candidates expect for African Americans to listen to their proposals, to their ideas or even give them support if they are unwilling to do the same for us?

Every single year the Republican party tries to get their message out to the African American community, they try to register more as republicans, they try to get African Americans to support their candidates the community never does, even if the candidate is African American. Then the National party wonders why, this is the answer to the why. It's because when the community is ready to listen to them, the Republican party say no thanks and go to the other side of town for a "fundraiser"  Instead. But as soon as election time comes around they go and  ask for our support.  When you show us that your not interested in our issues, our problems or our ideas we will not be interested in yours. Do you blame us? So what the Democratic Party takes us for granted, at least they listen, at lest they have a discussion with us, at lest they come in and try to help solve the problems of our communities. What do you do? you turn your back on us and say that we really don't matter anyway, is this the way we're going to be treated if we where to become a party of your party? Is this what we have to look forward too? if so we're not interested.

The Republican party has a lot to offer to the African American community, African Americans benefits when taxes are low, when school choice is available, when the economy is creating jobs. But because the party candidates are not willing to discuss our issues, they in turn hurt the party. If the Republican party is serious about gaining our support they need to seriously educate their presidential and Congressional candidates on the importance of reaching out to our community. Yeah, maybe the community only accounts for 10% or less of the party, but how do you expect that to grow to 20%?

As I’ve stated in an earlier post I really like Mike Huckabee, he gives great debate performances, he listens and he is very good at communicating to the voters and I’m happy to report that he is one of the republicans that has agreed to attend this event, thank god for people like Mike.

The following “leading” candidates are a disgrace to the party:

Rudy Giuliani (Hardly knew you anyway)
John McCain (Wish you wasn’t here, we need someone who is a Independent thinker like yourself)
Mitt Romney (What are your positions again?)
Fred Thompson (you just started politics?)

The following Republicans are doing not only a great service to their self,  but also to the nation as well as the party by being willing to have a discussion with the minority community. I welcome them with open opens to my community, my party and my country:

Newt Gingrich (would you just please run? Or and get social security reformed for me)
Mike Huckabee (win the nomination and you will be President. Great guy)
Senator Sam Brownback (hardly know you, but will keep an eye on you)
Ron Paul (thanks for stopping by, but I want to win in Iraqi. Will you stand up for freedom?)
Tom Tancredo (your that immigration guy right? You’re running for President? Welcome)
Duncan Hunter (Welcome to the community)
